Wine Advocate 87 points - The 2010 Porfyros is one-fourth each Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, plus 50% Merlot, aged in French barriques (30% new, 70% 2-3 years old). Sourced from 28-year-old vines, it comes in at 13% alcohol. Modest in the mid-palate, it does have some tannic pop and structure, plus a crisp, raspberry-tinged nuance on the finish. I admit there were moments when I liked this more than my first impression would have suggested, particularly for its flavor profile. It could be a charmer for the mid-term, but it doesn’t have the depth for the long haul.
