Aromas of limestone, and briny oyster shell are touched with almond, Bosque pear and lemon peel. Crisp acidity and freshness are balanced by notes of honey, orange blossom and graham cracker on the long, earthy finish.
Wine Advocate 92 points - As did all of these Chardonnays, the 2012 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard had its malolactic fermentation blocked. Similar to a grand cru Chablis, it offers up notes of nectarines, tangerine oil, mango and pineapple, a honeyed character, fabulous intensity and medium to full body. It, too, saw 25% new French oak and was aged 16 months in barrel. It was produced from the Chardonnay Musque clone which provides exotic characteristics. Drink now-2020. (Dec 2014)
