Mavrodaphne grapes are bought from a single, high-altitude vineyard. Vinification and bottling is completed at the Gentilini winery. Fermented in steel vats and aged for 12 months in French oak casks. Dark red wine with layers of red fruit, spice, licorice and wild mint. On the palate, it is rich and complex with soft, round tannins and a long finish.
Our Domaine is located in Vergisson, a picturesque village perched up high in the hills at the heart of the historic Solutre and Vergisson site, in southern Burgundy. The vineyards stretch over 6 hectares in two appellations: Pouilly Fuisse and Saint-Veran.
Our artisanal approach to viticulture allows us to use ecological and natural methods of cultivation. Working the soil is an integral part of our labour, manual work is valued and the harvest is carried out by hand.
Our painstaking work, from cultivation in the vineyards to aging in the cellars, results in pure, rich wines of character, reflecting the terroirs of Vergisson.
The Domaine produces four wines from Pouilly-Fuisse and one from Saint-Veran.
