Wine Advocate 91 points - The 2008 Reserva is more classical in style, displaying some leather and tea leaf notes and a polished palate where the spicy meat flavors are well-married with the red-black fruit and abundant but fine tannins from a cool harvest. It’s a great Reserva and great value. Drink 2014-2018. (Dec 2013)
Commencing with a ripe, healthy grape and following a very careful process, we achieve a harmonious wine and a fine balance of fruit aromas, spice sensations and vanilla evocations. Full, smooth and persistent. This elegant wine is the truest example of the Beronia classic range.
|Beronia was founded in 1973 by a group of businessmen, friends from the Basque country who would come to La Rioja on holiday. The friends had a great love of food and wine and created their own gastronomic society in the area, deciding to produce their own wines to be enjoyed with the local cuisine, initially only producing Reserva and Gran Reserva style wines. The winery integrated into the Gonzalez Byass Family of Wine group in 1982 and began an expansion into international markets. Today Beronia is one of the most reknowned Spanish wineries both in international and domestic markets, producing pure and traditional Rioja wines with their own personality and Beronia style.
