Aromas of citrus and summer stone fruits are balanced by a core minerality and tangy acidity.
Dr. F. Weins-Prum, located in the Bernkastel-Wehlen region of Mosel, Germany, was established in 1911 by Anna Prum, and her husband Dr. Francis Weins. Today it is run by Bert Selbach, a former banker, who bought the property in 1978. The nine acre produces Riesling from three estate vineyards located in the Mosel. The Wehlener Sonnenuhr Vineyard is planted on compact and stony Devonian gray slate on a steep 60% slope at an elevation of 426-1082 feet. The Graacher Himmelreich Vineyard, at an altitude is 450-600 feet, is planted on blue/gray slate and the Graacher Domprobst Vineyard, is planted on a steep slope at an elevation of 500-650 feet to loam with medium-size chunks of blue/gray Devonian slate top soils. The wines are aged in traditional large oak casks.
