This is where it all began for us at T-Vine. The Grenache from the Frediani Vineyard was our first wine and is a perennial favorite.
This wine is the culmination of the essence of T-Vine. Someone once said, the most powerful word in the English language is “let.”
The principle is simple. Start with intense and completely unique grapes and then do as little as possible. We start with rare old vine Grenache (only 14 acres in Napa Valley) from the rich volcanic Calistoga soil which is the heart of the Frediani Vineyard. We hand-pick the grapes when they reach full maturity. Then we let the wine ferment to unleash the brilliant complex flavors. We gently press to capture the silky texture at just the right moment. In the neutral French oak barrels the wine reaches its full potential with no intervention.
With Frediani fruit our role as vintners is to stay out of the way and let what nature gave us flourish. Much is written and talked about the art and science of winemaking. Making Grenache from the Frediani vineyard is an honor and a privilege. If you have ever picked a perfectly ripe blackberry and popped it into your mouth, you understand what we are striving to capture. We are committed to relaying the perfect flavors of nature to you in every bottle of T-Vine. These Grenache grapes give us a perfect start to our quest.
T-Vine was founded in 1992 with a passion for making small lots of big juicy wines – specializing in old vines: Grenache, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah.
In 2009, a partnership by three friends and fellow vintners – Jim Regusci, Chuck Easley and James Harder – was formed to acquire T-Vine Cellars with the goal of carrying on the T-Vine traditions and enhancing and adding a few interesting grape/vineyard sources for the winemaking team.
T-Vine was always founded on the principle that when people enjoy these wines, we want them to think that they jumped into a blackberry tangle on a bright summers day. The wines should be big, juicy, balanced and brimming with fruit. That has always been the goal from day one and will continue to be what you can expect from T-Vine wines as long as we are lucky enough to steward the beautiful grapes that come our way.
