Wine Spectator 94 points - Offers a racy feel, with iron-bolted red currant, bitter cherry, bay, pepper, violet and tobacco notes coursing along. Taut and tense through the finish, where the pepper and sanguine accents leave a mouthwatering feel. Should age wonderfully. Best from 2015 through 2027.J.M.  (Aug 27 2014)

Wine Advocate 94 points - There were only two cuvees produced, with no Les Vieilles Fontaines. The 2011 Cornas Les Chailles is totally thrilling and offers palate saturating liquid violets, sweet blackberry, cassis, mint and underbrush qualities to go with a medium to full-bodied, pure and seamless personality. Aged 18 months in neutral oak, this beauty is still youthfully primary, so give it another 2-3 years and enjoy it over the following decade. (Dec 2013)

    Wine maker notes
Our Cornas « Les Chailles » comes from a parcel of Syrah grapes, with an average of 20 years old, on granitic terraces bordering a calcareous hill. This proximity gave particular siliceous concretions called "Les Chailles” and a very particular taste to the wine.

    Food pairing
It will go well with all grilled red meats and pork products (especially form the Ardèche !).

    Producer
With over 70 parcels of vines totaling seven hectares, it is no wonder that Alain Voge sometimes seems distracted. Half in jest, he says that the reason he harvests so late is to figure out which vines are his. Lovably comic yet humble, honest, dedicated to his domaine, and incredibly hardworking, Alain Voge and his wife Elaine have been estate-bottling Cornas since the mid-1950s. In spite of producing what most critics, Parker and the Wine Spectator included, call some of the finest wines in the world, the Voges remain the kind of people one wishes one had for grandparents.
