Great wines are produced in unique places. Alta Vista’s 516 acres of estate vineyards are situated in the best terroirs of Mendoza and Salta, at 3,200 feet above sea level. Each vineyard receives expertise that is tailored to each grape variety via specific treatments called Terroir Management. The wine undergoes extended maceration to extract aromas and intense color. Part of the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, before an additional 3 months aging in bottle.
|Medrano or Villa de Medrano is a district that belongs to the Province of Mendoza and is located at Latitud 33º 10´ 60´´ at a height of 668 meters above sea level (2,260 feet). This district has roughly 3,000 inhabitants. This region has old vineyards with Malbec and Cabernet grapes which were introduced by immigrants at the beginning of last century. The Terroir of Medrano has awoken in us and in other winemakers the interest to produce Premium wines from the vineyards located in this zone. Specifically, our wines come from vineyards over 60 years old, with high density and low yield. Medrano Estate wines are a Tribute and acknowledgement to those visionary immigrants, most of them Italian, who found the appropriate Terroir and tended properly to their vineyards throughout time, maintaining the same passion as their predecessors.
