The wine offers varietally true aromas and flavors, the palate feels much drier than the nose. It has nice power and a velvety finish that features firm acidity and lovely minerality.
As owner and winemaker at Clos del Portal, Alfredo Arribas is dedicated to producing wines of typicity and terroir. With his Trossos project, he takes it to another level by producing single-vineyard, hand-crafted wines from old vines planted in the Monsant region of Spain. With each bottling, Alfredo seeks to highlight the three distinct soil types of the region: sand, calcareous or red clay. Each parcel is vinified separately and the aging regiment is customized based on terroir and varietal. The fruit is harvested-hand and the wines are aged in French oak barrels.
|(100% White Grenache). Unlike other bottling of Trossos, Sants is made from fruit harvested from young vines four years old to be exact. The parcel is located in Marca and planted in a northeast/northwest exposition to sand and gravel. The wine was fermented for 16 days in small stainless steel tanks and was matured in both steel (66.5%) and in French oak puncheons (33.5%).
