Peach, nectarine, vanilla, lemon-lime, and pear aromas merge with zesty acidity and stone fruit on the lingering finish.
Wine Spectator 90 points - A rich style, with ample minerality to the ruby grapefruit, lemon curd and green peach flavors. Granite and slate notes linger on the firm, powerful finish. Drink now through 2020. 1,000 cases imported. –KM  (May 31 2014)

Founded in 1849, Reichsrat von Buhl is located in Deidesheim, Germany. The estate is owned by the Niederberger family but has been leased to a Japanese operating company since 1989. The team is comprised of estate manager Stefan Weber, winemaker Michael Leibrecht and vineyard manager Werner Sebastian. The estate owns 153 acres of certified organic vineyards in the Pfalz region. Riesling (88%) and Pinot Noir (8%) are the primary varietals planted, with lesser amounts of Scheurbe, Rieslaner and Sauvignon Blanc. The Reiterpfad Vineyard in Ruppertsberg is comprised of sandstone and calcaire soils and Paradiesgarten Vineyard in Deidesheim is planted on red clay and yellow sandstone. In Forst, the estate has significant holdings in the Grand Cru vineyards of Kirchenstuck Pechstein, Ungeheuer and Jesuitengarten, which are all planted on soils comprised of clay, basalt, limestone and sandstone.
Wine maker notes
ARMAND was the dazzling personality in the estate’s history. It was he who made the estate what it still is today – an internationally recognised leading wine estate. He was awarded the title ”Reichsrat of the Bavarian Crown” for his contribution to politics and he crowned his life with the opening of the Suez Canal, at which VON BUHL wine was served when the ”ribbon” was cut. It is in honour of him that we produce the ARMAND wine. Its character is said to be similar to the wine that opened the Suez Canal. With a fruity apricot nose and spectacular fireworks of acidity, spirit and mineral character on the tongue, it never fails to seduce top testers both at home and abroad.

Technical notes
Fermented in stainless steel tank and matured sur lie for eight weeks, the wine was bottled unfined.

Food pairing
The options are numerous. From spicy Asian cuisine, through tangy Arab cuisine to fine young raw milk cheeses, it can create plenty of suspense as an accompaniment. It never fails to surprise, how quickly a bottle of the wonderfully light wines is drunk.

The REICHSRAT VON BUHL estate has been a family-owned business for over 150 years and has ranked among the most prestigious estates in Germany ever since. It was founded in 1849 and very soon made a significant name for itself well beyond the borders of Germany. It has been the recipient of some of the top awards at international wine exhibitions in Paris and Brussels.Today the estate is owned by the entrepreneur from Neustadt Achim Niederberger and since 1989 the estate has been leased to an operating company. The owners of this company are two Japanese businessmen, the estate director Stefan Weber and the Sales Manager Christoph Graf. The estate is managed with one goal in mid and that is creating the best conditions for the production of top quality wines and they have recently invested heavily in new cellar facilities and modernized vineyard operations. Estate Manager Stefan Weber is supported by a committed young team, who over the last few years have drawn on these excellent facilities and shown their metal with international success reminiscent of glorious days gone by. Since the 2008 vintage, the estate has been involved in an official procedure to obtain certification for organic cultivation. This step was not motivated only by idealism, but by the conviction that this will help us produce even better qualities.
