Aromas of citrus, jasmine and apricot with hints ofalmonds and flint are balanced with lively acidity, balance and a persistent finish.
Wine Advocate 92 points - The 2012 Els Amelers is pure old-vine Garnacha Blanca aged in contact with the lees for seven months, with only 10% of the wine matured in oak. The nose has subtle lees and yeast aromas intermixed with fennel, aniseed, white fruit, jasmine and orange blossom notes. It has a clean and precise palate with good acidity and persistent flavors, and an overall feeling of freshness and balance. A great Garnacha Blanca. Drink now-2020.  (Feb 2014)

In 2007, Ramon Roqueta Segales founded LaFou Celler. LaFou is located in the small, rustic village of Batea, in the Terra Alta region of Spain. The estate vineyards are planted at 1148-1640 feet above sea level. Owner Ramon comes from a long line of winemakers and growers his family established the Mas Roqueta and Masia Roqueta estate in the Bages region of Central Catalonia, Spain in the 12th century. Over the centuries, the family has extended operations to include distribution, an import arm and owns a total of four wineries in and around Catalonia, Spain. Ramon’s father, Valenti is the 4th consecutive generation of the family to lead the business and is a long-time emissary for the region and its wines. Ramon and winemaker Joan Soler are inspired by the terroir of Terra Alta and seek to produce transparent expressions of place.
Wine maker notes
LAFOU ELS AMELERS Pale yellow colour with straw tones, bright. On nose, its citric notes (grapefruit, lemon pip) surrounded by white flower (jasmine) appeal. Slowly sweet fruit aroma (apricot) appear against a nutty background (green almonds) and flint, which give the sensation of volume and complexity in a wine predominated by its initial freshness that is maintained over time. The flow in mouth combines the great varietal structure with an acidity that tenses the whole, highlighting the lively character and extending the citric and floral perception, around which the strength of the Grenache Blanc unfolds. Generous and refined, it maintains an elegant, powerful balance, echoing the Terra Alta region.

Technical notes
(100% Grenache). The Grenache was aged on its lees for seven months after which 25% was separated from the block and racked to 300 liter slightly toasted oak barrels where it matured for three months. The wine was then blended back with the original lot, the cuvee was separated from its lees, clarified, stabilized and bottled.
