Ripe and sweet notes of stone fruit, almonds, acacia flowers, star anise, and citrus are nicely framed by minerality and bright acidity.
Tenuta Tavignano is located in Cingoli, a small, hilltop city situated in the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi appellation of Italy. Owners Beatrice Lucangeli and Stefano Aymerich bought this 568 acre property in 1992 and over the next three years planted 37 acres with Verdicchio, 24 acres to Montepulciano and 12 acres to Sangiovese. The vines were planted at 2,070 feet on medium textured, loose clay based soils and are farmed in a sustainable manner. Agronomist Dr. Pierluigi Lorenzetti and oenologists Dr. Pierluigi Lorenzetti and Dr. Giulio Piazzini guide the development of the wines.
|(100% Verdicchio). Fruit harvested from southwest facing vines planted in 1992 was cold macerated on its skins for 4-5 hours, fermented and matured with its lees in steel tanks for a few months and was then aged in bottle for at least five months before release. Misco is the ancient name for the Musone River that flows into the Lake Cingoli.
