The fruit was fermented and aged in stainless steelfor 12 months, and the wine offers apricot, melon rind, mango, tangerine and herbal tones that are balanced by a core of citrus, juicy acidity and minerality.
Founded by Laura Semeria and her husband Leonard in 2007, Terra Laura is a 50 acre estate located in the Loire Valley in the tiny hamlet of Cour-Cheverny. The vines are planted on clay and sand, the average age is 15-20+ years old but some are as old as 60- 80 years.
The handpicked fruit is rigorously sorted and vinified with indigenous yeast. In Cheverny, white wines are primarily Sauvignon Blanc and with Arbois, Chardonnay or Pineau Blanc de la Loire. Gamay is the primary red grape of the area and is generally blended with Pinot Noir and occasionally Cabernet Franc or Malbec. Terra Laura is one of only 11 producers situated in the tiny 118 acre appellation of Cour-Cheverny.
