Intense ruby red color, complex on the nose, fruity, with prunes, cherry jam aroma, and notes of tobacco, slightly spicy. Full-bodied wine, soft and rich with fine tannins, with notes of cocoa, coffee and vanilla at the finish.

Hand harvested in small baskets. Maceration: 18 days with local yeasts. Thermo-controlled fermentation at 24-26C.
Selected vineyards of Neviera and Casa Rossa, located in San Marzano district. The soil is mainly ’terra rossa’, with a fine texture and generally a calcareous underground with a few emerging rocks. The well-known redness of these soils is due to the presence of iron oxides. The climate is characterised by high temps all year round, little rainfall and a wide temp range between night and day, which has a positive influence on the quality of grapes. This is the ’classical’ central area of d.o.c. ’Primitivo di Mandria’

Our adventure comes to life from decades of experience of two important wine industries: the Apulian cooperative ”Cantine San Marzano” and the Abruzzi company ”Farnese Vini”; in 2003 they put together their acquisitions in the wine sector to boost the Apulia autochthonous grape varieties and produce excellent wines.
It very soon became a success, both in Italy and all around the world, thanks to a production philosophy that combines strong traditional methods in the countryside and a modern approach in the cellar. Our farmers know how to respect the rhythm of the vineyards, without forcing them, by using a heritage of agronomic practices they inherited from the past.
In order to take the best from the fruits of these extraordinary plants, we look for the best conditions to work them in the cellar, making use of modern winemaking equipment.
And at the end of their course, after much trouble and work, all our wines rest in the underground rooms of ”Cantine San Marzano”, completely dug into the rock, thermically and physically insulated, awaiting to give our consumers great emotions.
