|Ouzo is an alcoholic beverage produced and widely consumed in Greece. There are several views about the origin of the name. It is believed that the name comes from the phrase ”uso Massalia” meaning ”for use in Massalia”. A company exported a drink in Massalia. The above sentence appeared on the cases of the exportable batch. The phrase became synonymous with good quality of ouzo. The word ”Massalia” was later abandoned and the word uso = ouzo hereinafter characterized the drink.

From the beginning, our viticulture follows a different path than usual in Bierzo. Instead of looking outstanding slate vineyards, we focus on recovering old vineyards of Mencia, which were almost abandoned for being in clay areas.
Work on the tiny plots aims to balance the vineyard with its natural ecosystem. So take advantage of the characteristics of the soil, to offer wines with elegance and purity as main features.
