Wine Advocate 88 points - The 2009 Tinto is a blend of 40% each of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, with 20% Tinta Roriz, aged for 6 months in oak. Rather graceful and beautifully constructed, this elegant Tinto has good structure, ripe fruit and a serious demeanor. It is not at peak yet, but should come around nicely in a year or two. In the meanwhile, it is certainly approachable without much concern. It did thin a bit with aeration, but overall it is quite interesting as a warm vintage wine (the alcohol is only 14% if you’re concerned). Drink now-2019. (Dec 2012)
Delaforce Tinto is blend of traditional Douro grape varieties such as Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca grown in the 45 year olde vine parcels of Aciprestes.
These grapes are hand harvested, fermentation and maturation take place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wine is matured in wooden vats and small oak barrels.
It is a very attractive wine with lush flavours and smooth structure.
