High in the hills of the Corbieres at an altitude of 1,300 feet in a stunning corner of south west France, Chateau Trillol has been in the Sichel family since 1990. Technical notes
Grenache, Syrah and Carignan with an average age of 35 years comes from two distinct terroirs – the silica-rich Terror de Termenes high in the hills and the Terroir de Qeribus in the valley surrounding the village. The grapes are destemmed and fermented for 6-8 days followed by 30-40 days of maceration with daily pumpovers. Aged 12 months in 2-5 year old French oak.

They have undertaken the task of developing the company while remaining faithful to their father’s philosophy, with respect for quality and the authenticity of the different terroirs. Allan’s eldest son, Alexander Sichel joined the company’s sales team in September 2012 to do his bit in developing the Sichel brand. The future of this family company is assured…
