ColourBrilliant garnet, typical of wines obtained from Nebbiolo grapes
Nose Elegant, its varietal perfumes marry perfectly with fresh eucalyptus notes (typical of this particular vineyard), slightly withered flowers (pink, purple) and a sweet spices aftertaste
Taste Balanced tannins with a refreshing acidity. Notable harmony, structure and persistence.
Wine Advocate 92 points - The 2009 Barbaresco Albesani Santo Stefano unfurls on the palate with layers of highly expressive dark fruit. Hints of menthol, smoke, incense, leather and tobacco appear later, adding considerable depth and complexity. A plush, open finish rounds things out in style. Though fresher than the straight bottling, the Santo Stefano is also remarkably open today. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2024.
