Vinous 90 points - (52% grenache blanc, 27% viognier, 16% roussanne and 5% marsanne; all stainless steel): Light yellow. Deeply pitched orchard and pit fruit scents and flavors are lifted and sharpened by notes of lemon pith, white flowers and ginger. Juicy, incisive and refreshingly bitter, with a suave blend of richness and vivacity. A smoky nuance comes up on the finish, which shows strong cut and subtle herbacity. This will be highly adaptable at the table, especially with grilled poultry or fish, which is no surprise given its southern Rhone bloodline. -- Josh Raynolds  (Nov 2013)

Wine Advocate 87 points - Made from 52% Grenache Blanc, 27% Viognier, 16% Roussanne, 5% Marsanne, the 2012 Patelin de Tablas Blanc is a soft, supple and straightforward effort that gives up plenty of pear, white peach, white flowers and hints of honeysuckle to go with a medium-bodied, clean and classy mouthfeel. It lacks length and complexity, yet is a delicious quaffer to enjoy over the coming year or two.  (Aug 2014)

Wine Advocate 89 points - Tasted from tank, the 2012 Patelin de Tablas Blanc checks in as a blend of 52% Grenache, 27% Viognier and the rest Roussanne thatís aged all in tank. Pretty and elegant, with plenty of white peach, citrus rind and spice, this rounded, supple white has a hard-to-resist texture and while fresh and clean enough to drink nicely on its own, should also be versatile on the dinner table. Drink it over the coming year or two. Drink 2014-2015. (Aug 2013)

Wine maker notes
The Tablas Creek Vineyard Patelin de Tablas Blanc is a blend of four white Rhone varietals: Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne, and Marsanne. The wine incorporates fruit from eight top Rhone vineyards in Paso Robles, each vineyard selected for its quality. Like many white wines from the Southern Rhone, it is based on the crisp acids and rich mouthfeel of Grenache Blanc, with Viognier added for floral, tropical aromatics, and small additions of Roussanne and Marsanne for structure.

Tablas Creek is the realization of the combined efforts of two of the international wine communityís leading families, the Perrin family, proprietors of Chateau de Beaucastel, and Robert Haas, founder of Vineyard Brands. They had since the 1970s believed the California climate to be ideal for planting Rhone varietal grapes. In 1987, they began the lengthy process of creating a Chateauneuf-du-Pape style vineyard from scratch in the New World. The Tablas Creek Vineyard Partnership was born, with the Perrin and Haas families as majority partners, and French and American wine loving friends as minority partners.
