The wine is elaborated with grapes coming partly from our own vineyards surrounding the winery (planted in 1999) and others up to 50 years of age. The vineyards are planted in poor soils, many with thick layers of pebbles, under which clay, sand and chalk may be found at more than 740m asl. These vineyards occupy the high hills of the Pisuerga river valley, with an extreme continental climate, long and cold winters, late spring frosts and summers with marked contrasts between day and night temperatures. Local viticulture has always been sustainable, respectful to the environment, without
chemical fertilisers and a good use of the vegetation so that the fruit ripening is optimal. All our vineyards are hand harvested, and the result of all the above is healthy, ripe grapes with a high aromatic concentration.
