This wine is rich and dark with aromas of red
cherries, raspberries and violets. Subtle hints of smoky oak and bright berry fruit flavors lead to a velvety
finish.
After years of working in the wine business, Allan and Catherine Scott founded their eponymous winery in
1985 in Marlborough, New Zealand. Born in the area, Allan helped plant its first vineyard and has been
one of the leading figures in the development of this region. His wife Catherine is one of a long line of
farmers born and bred in Marlborough.
The winery is located in the Rapaura sub-appellation, an area particularly renowned for its Pinot Noir and
Sauvignon Blanc. A true family affair, Allan and Catherine remain actively involved in all levels of
production, their son Josh is the winemaker and their daughters Sara and Victoria are the viticulturist and
marketing manager respectively. The family's sustainably farmed vineyards are located along the
northern edge of the Wairau Valley and are planted to gravelly soils. In 2010, their Millstone vineyard was
certified organic.
