This grappa is made from the pomace of Sangiovese (Brunello) and aged in barriques that were previously used in the making of Altesino’s wines. The Financial Police guarantees the quality of this product.

|The pomace is collected from the Altesino winery and brought to the Nannoni distillery where it is distilled within 24 hours. The distillery uses a steam system in a discontinuous process. Every part of the distillation installation is sealed, therefore the production quality and quantity are controlled by the Financial Police. After aging, the abv is lowered to 42% by the addition of distilled water, then filtered and bottled.
|Near the end of 2002, Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, owner of nearby Tenuta Caparzo, purchased the Altesino winery. Winemaker Claudio Basla remained with the estate, emphasizing his commitment to maintaining Altesino”s hard-earned reputation as a Montalcino institution and a global leader in innovative winemaking.
