Ultimate Beverage Challenge 92 points - Very bright on the nose. Smells of a summer barbecue with maple-glazed smoked meats, toasted barley, grilled peaches and orange blossom. Very smooth mouthfeel, nutty, smoky and deep dried fruit flavors. These all culminate into a dark chocolate-like, nutty finish. (Apr 2014)
Dating back to 1909, the Grand Old Parr brand isn't as well-known as other scotches, but it should be. On the nose, musty and malty scents give way to a rich, sweet palate, with notes of toffee, dried fruit, and spice. A warm peppery finish leaves a strong impression.
