A vibrant, sweet bouquet of raspberry jam, molassesand cinnamon toast evoke the senses of carefree youthful nights. Excellent oak integration provides silken tannins and spice to pair with Lodiís unrestricted wild berry fruit.
Wine Advocate 90 points - Another outstanding value is the 2012 Zinfandel 7 Deadly Zins (230,00 cases of 100% Zinfandel). Aged in American oak, it is an opulent, delicious, sexy, full-throttle Zinfandel boasting lots of briary, peppery, mulberry and black cherry fruit notes, a full-bodied texture and terrific purity as well as opulence. It is a delicious, staggering value in Zinfandel, and the fact that there are 230,000 cases blows my mind. Drink it over the next several years. (Nov 2014)
The Michael David Phillips Seven Deadly Zins packs a wallop; rich, powerful and lasting from start to finish.
|Wine maker notes
|A sinful blend indeed! Our flagship Zinfandel was devised by the two Phillips brothers in their search for a blended Zin so captivating that no one could refuse. With consistency in mind, the brothers decided to blend the fruit of Lodiís finest growers to fill the bottles of Michael~Davidís new-fangled wine. In the end, seven vineyards were chosen for their superiority. Now, how do you label a wine so unique in style? Looking to their past, the two Phillips brothers quickly related the Seven Sins from their Catholic school upbringing to the seven Old Vine Zinfandels blended in their wine.
|Our 7 Deadly pairs sinfully well with BBQíd Salmon, prime rib or grilled veggies. Get crazy with delectable dark chocolate desserts!
