Intense dark ruby colour, with hints of purple and mahogany on the edges. Warm and dense aroma reminiscent of spices and forests. The elegant palate has silky tannins and notes of fruit (blueberry and blackcurrant jams) over a background of rich vegetal and spicy tones (clove, tobacco, pepper). Barrel ageing has added touches of vanilla and smoke.
Every morning, in the Valley of Maule, the Andes Mountain sun rises initiating the ritual union of land and vine. These dry vineyards situated in the coastal inland of the Pacific “Cordillera” shelter some of the world’s oldest “Carignan” vines, many of them reaching more than 80 years of age. This variety, recovered from oblivion, is without a doubt, one of the great treasures of Chile.
